Pricing Strategy for Whistlr Studio Gems: Build a $0.50–$500 Ladder
Price your WTC Gem store as a short ladder: entry, mid, hype, and big thank-you within $0.50–$500. Business+ required; let Earnings move prices.
Pricing your Gem store in Whistlr Creator Live Studio is about building a short ladder, not picking one lucky number. Every Gem is a renameable WTC template with a hard floor of $0.50 and a hard ceiling of $500.00. Business+ must be verified before monetization unlocks — streaming alone does not open the WTC tab, Earnings, or withdrawals. Once Business+ and payment setup in Whistlr Go are in place, publish a ladder viewers can climb: an easy entry send, a clear mid thank-you, a named hype moment, and an optional big thank-you reserved for rare gestures. This guide is the pricing strategy playbook for that store.
Why the $0.50–$500 Range Exists The range is wide on purpose. A healthy store is not six items at $500 and it is not six items at $0.50. It is a short ladder: something almost anyone can send, something that feels like a real thank-you, something that marks a hype moment, and something reserved for a big gesture. Studio’s default templates — Obsidian ($1), Astra ($5), Quartz ($10), Onyx ($25), Nova ($50), and Diamond ($100) — are a usable first ladder. You are not stuck with the mineral names. “Hype Train” at $5 converts better than “Astra” if that is the language your chat already uses. Flexible pricing means any value inside $0.50–$500.00; values outside that range block save with “Price must be between $0.50 and $500.00.”
There is no follower minimum to receive Gems. Pricing strategy starts the first time you are live with a published store — not after you “earn the right” to monetize.
Business+ Before You Price Anything Anyone signed in can go live. Monetization stays locked until Business+ is verified at partners.whistlr.business. After verification, open the WTC tab, finish payment setup in Whistlr Go if Studio asks, then customize and publish. Without Business+, the WTC, Help, Earnings, and Analytics tabs stay hidden and no pricing strategy can run in product — only on paper. Apply once, get verified, publish at least one entry Gem, then go live. Viewers who are already watching can pay you on that same stream.
  • Entry Gem ($0.50–$2): Names like Just Got Here or Support Stream. The easiest yes for new viewers, lurkers, and “I can’t stay but I like this.” Obsidian starts at $1.
  • Mid ($5–$10): Tip Me or Super Chat. The everyday thank-you that should become your average order if the room is healthy. Astra starts at $5; Quartz at $10.
  • Hype ($25–$50): Hype Train or Let’s Go. For raids, clutches, and high-energy moments you call by name. Onyx starts at $25; Nova at $50.
  • Big thank-you ($100–$500): Diamond or You Saved the Stream. Rare, celebrated, never the only item. One of these should stop the show. Diamond starts at $100; $500 is the product maximum.
How to Set the Ladder, Not Just a Price Publish at least one entry Gem before the first stream. If the cheapest item is $25, most first-time viewers will not send anything — the $0.50 floor exists so a Discover watcher with fifty cents of curiosity still has a path. Keep one clear mid: if Astra and Quartz both exist, give them different jobs (a $5 “Tip Me” and a $10 “Super Chat”), not two names for the same thank-you. Name the hype Gem out loud — “Hype Train is live at $25” is a call to action; “Send Onyx” is a catalog SKU. Put a ceiling on the big thank-you that you are willing to celebrate: $100 is already a moment; use $500 only if your community has asked for a top-end item, not because the slider goes there. Unpublish what never sells so a quiet four-Gem store beats a noisy six-Gem store with ignored tiles.
Name the Behavior, Not the Rock Viewers buy a reason. “Hype Train,” “Super Chat,” “Tip Me,” and “Support Stream” tell them what happens after they tap. A starter mineral title is fine as art; a show name is what converts. Pair each name with a price that matches the moment you will call out on stream. You change the name and the price on a template — not the coin art — so branding is about language and ladder roles, not inventing a second store system. Helper copy in Customize Gem reminds you: “Choose a custom name or keep the default.” An empty name blocks publish with “Please enter a Gem name.”
Let Earnings Move the Prices After a few sessions, ignore the starter numbers and read three fields on Earnings: Top Gem, average order (avg Gem value), and peak earning times. If Top Gem is always the $1 entry item and average order sits near $1, your mid is either misnamed or too high — drop the mid toward $5 and talk about it on stream. If Top Gem is already the $25 hype item, you can raise the entry Gem a little without starving the ladder. If revenue clusters in one hour, that is when you run the named hype Gem, not when the room is thin. Top supporters tell you who is carrying the high end: thank them on stream and keep a big thank-you published so they have somewhere to land. Do not build the whole store around them.
  • Total WTC revenue: Dollars from Gem purchases — the headline you cash out from the business dashboard.
  • Gems sent: Volume — whether people are sending at all.
  • Supporters: Unique Gem senders — how wide the support is, not just how loud.
  • Average order: Typical dollars per send — whether your mid-tier is actually selling.
  • Top Gem: The item with the most purchases — what to talk about more next stream.
  • Top supporters: Leaderboard of senders — who to thank first, and who carries the room.
  • Peak earning times: When revenue clusters — when to run hype, raids, or a named Gem drop.
  • Gem Performance: Per-item rollup so you can Edit or Unpublish with evidence, not guesswork.
Retune With Edit — Do Not Rebuild Blindly A published Gem is not frozen. On a Published card, click Edit, change Gem Name and/or Price within $0.50–$500.00, then Update Gem until you see “Changes are now live.” Edits apply immediately for viewers who open the store after the save. You can Edit mid-stream without ending the broadcast. If a $2.00 Hype Train converts and a $50.00 tile is idle, drop the idle price or rename it to a moment your show actually has. Unpublish tiles that never sell; the slot stays as Draft with the last name and price so you can republish later. Past purchases remain in Earnings and your payouts dashboard — unpublish does not reverse money already paid.
Practical First Catalog You do not need six different prices on day one. Publish two or three well-named tiles: one frequent send in the $0.50–$5.00 range, one highlighted support tier in the $5.00–$25.00 range, and optionally one moment or finale tile up to $500.00 if your show has a clear closer. Call each tile on stream by name and price the first time you want it bought. The store is instant once published; discovery is still your job. Set the catalog up before Go Live — if every Gem is still Draft when you hit live, the viewer store is empty and no pricing strategy can convert.
Price so more people can take the path from send to your dashboard — then withdraw on your schedule, with the bank typically one to two business days behind the button and no 30-day hold on cleared Gem revenue.
Pricing Checklist Before Go Live Confirm Business+ is verified and WTC is visible. Confirm payment setup in Whistlr Go so publish is not blocked. Publish at least one entry Gem at or near the low end of $0.50–$2. Give mid and hype tiles stream-native names, not leftover mineral labels, unless chat already loves those names. Keep the big thank-you rare and celebrated. After the stream, read Top Gem, average order, and peak times before you change anything. Then Edit, Unpublish, or republish — and go live again with a ladder that matches what the room actually bought.
  • Business+ required: Monetization (WTC store, Earnings, withdrawals) stays locked until verification at partners.whistlr.business.
  • Price bounds: Minimum $0.50, maximum $500.00 — hard product limits on every customize and edit.
  • Default starter ladder: Obsidian $1, Astra $5, Quartz $10, Onyx $25, Nova $50, Diamond $100 — rename freely.
  • No follower gate: First-time Discover viewers can buy the same store as long-time followers once you are live with published Gems.
  • Earnings-driven changes: Move prices from Top Gem and average order, not from a guess between streams.
  • Instant path to cash: Cleared sends land as Direct Revenue with no holding period; typical bank arrival is one to two business days after withdraw.
