Whistlr Studio on iOS and Everywhere: One Go Live, All Screens
One Go Live from Whistlr Live Studio reaches whistlr.network in the browser, the Whistlr Network iOS app, your profile, and the public live page — same broadcast, same chat, same title and category card. Viewers do not install a studio app to watch you, and you do not publish a separate “mobile stream.” This guide is the iOS and everywhere distribution deep dive: where a viewer opens the room, how Visit Stream gives you a watch-right-now link, when to share the profile instead, and how one Whistlr ID keeps Studio, network, and phone in sync.
Studio produces. The network and iOS already hold the audience.
whistlr.studio is the production cockpit: preview, Stream Information, chat, Go Live, and Visit Stream. whistlr.network is the social home where people browse, follow, and watch. The Whistlr Network iOS app is that same network in a pocket. You sign in with one Whistlr ID everywhere. You do not keep a studio audience, a web audience, and a mobile audience. People who follow you on the phone are the people who see you in Following the next time you go live from Studio.
Publishing on Studio is not the same action as publishing a Gem in WTC. Going live is how the room itself appears on Whistlr. You do not create an iOS stream, then a Flow stream, then a Discover stream. Hit Go Live once after title and category are set. The same broadcast lands in every live feed with nothing extra to configure — no per-surface toggle, no “post to iOS” checkbox, and no second encoder target for mobile.
Where a viewer can open your room
Viewers find you on the surfaces they already use. On the web they open whistlr.network and the live feeds — Flow, Highlights, Following, Discover — or your profile. On iPhone and iPad they download Whistlr Network from the App Store, sign in with their Whistlr ID, and use those same feeds. They can also open the public live page (the session URL Visit Stream reveals from Studio) or your profile link in the browser or in the app. Phone and desktop watchers receive the same broadcast. Chat is the same room. Title and category are the same card.

Profile link vs live page link
Your profile is a permanent address. Followers, searchers, and anyone with your link open it whether you are live or not. While you are on air, that same profile is one of the places the broadcast appears — a person who bookmarked you last week does not need Flow or Discover. Share the profile when you want a link that still makes sense tomorrow. Share Visit Stream’s public live page when you want someone to land in this session right now. Both resolve to the same creator. The live page is the session; the profile is you.
- Bios, newsletters, “follow me” posts: Use the whistlr.network profile so the link survives after End stream.
- “I’m live right now” posts and DMs: Use the public live page while Visit Stream is available.
- Guests on a laptop: Same profile or live page links work in the browser.
- Guests on an iPhone: Same links open in the browser or in the Whistlr Network app — you are not responsible for installing anything beyond pointing them at Whistlr.
Using Visit Stream as the host
Visit Stream is how you step out of the cockpit and into the public page. It appears in the studio chrome only while the broadcast is live and surfaced, so a dark or missing button is a useful signal: the network cannot open you yet. Wait for the LIVE badge and for Visit Stream to show. Open it in a new tab. Confirm the title, category, and chat match Studio — including what an iOS viewer will see on the same card. Copy that public live page for immediate watch links. Copy your profile when you need a link that still works after you end the stream.
Title and category are the only distribution copy that travels with the live. Write them in Stream Information before Go Live so every surface — web feeds, iOS feeds, profile, and the public page — shows the same honest card. Lead with a topic a stranger can scan (up to 100 characters). Pick the category that matches what is on camera this hour. After you end the stream, live cards leave the feeds; go live again whenever you are ready with no cooldown and no follower minimum to re-enter Flow, Highlights, Following, Discover, or iOS discovery.
One identity everywhere
Studio, whistlr.network, and the iOS app share one Whistlr ID. You do not create a mobile creator account. Viewers do not need a second follow to see you on the phone. The circle they build in the app is the circle that sees you in Following next time. Keep the profile current the same way you keep Stream Information honest: photo, name, and bio should match the person on camera. Distribution puts the live in front of people on every screen; the profile is what they check before they follow.
