Edit and Unpublish Gems in Whistlr Studio: Retune or Hide Live Tiles
A published Gem in Whistlr Creator Live Studio is not frozen. You can retitle it, change the price anywhere from $0.50 to $500.00, or pull it from the live viewer store without deleting the template. The card keeps the same coin art. Only name, price, and whether viewers can buy it change. Business+ is required to monetize — without a verified Business+ account, the WTC tab stays hidden and there is nothing to edit. This guide covers Edit Gem, Update Gem, Unpublish, and how to put a hidden tile back on sale during or between streams.
What You Can Change on a Live Tile
Open Creator Live Studio on a Business+ account and click WTC in the center tabs. Published cards show a green Published badge with Edit and Unpublish actions. Click Edit (or the card). The modal title becomes Edit Gem. Change Gem Name and/or Price (USD). The same limits as first publish apply: minimum $0.50, maximum $500.00; values outside that range block save with “Price must be between $0.50 and $500.00.” An empty name is blocked the same way as on a draft. Click Update Gem. The button reads Updating… while it saves. On success: “Changes are now live.”
Unpublish is hide, not erase. The template, the coin, and your last price stay on the WTC grid — you are closing the storefront tile, not destroying the product.
Edit Name and Price Step by Step
On a Published card, click Edit or click the card itself so Edit Gem opens. Update the Gem Name to match the language chat already uses — Hype Train, Super Chat, Tip Me, Support Stream, or a name only your room says out loud. Adjust Price within $0.50–$500.00. Click Update Gem and wait for Updating… to finish. Success toast: “Changes are now live.” Viewers who open the store after the save see the new name and price. You do not need to unpublish and republish just to retune a tier. You can Edit mid-stream; the update does not require ending the broadcast. Watch Gem Performance on Earnings after the next few sends to confirm the retune worked.
- Rename or reprice a live tile: Edit → Update Gem. Viewers see the new name and price, still for sale. Success: “Changes are now live.”
- Hide a tile for this era of the show: Unpublish → confirm. Gone from the store. Slot kept as Draft with last name and price.
- Bring a hidden tile back: Customize & Publish → Publish Gem. Back in the store immediately (Whistlr Go payments still required).
- Art stays fixed: You rename and reprice; you do not replace the coin art in the edit flow.
- Mid-stream safe: Edits apply without ending the broadcast; new buyers see the updated store.
- History preserved: Past purchases remain in Earnings and the payouts dashboard after unpublish.
Unpublish, Then Put It Back
Unpublish takes the Gem out of the viewer store without throwing away the slot. Click Unpublish. Studio asks you to confirm that viewers will no longer be able to purchase it. After confirm, the badge returns to Draft (muted) and the card action becomes Customize & Publish again. Other published Gems stay on sale. Past purchases remain in Earnings and in your payouts dashboard — unpublish does not reverse money already paid. An unpublished card is a draft with the last name and price you used. Open Customize & Publish, adjust if you want, and click Publish Gem again. You get the same success line as the first publish: “Gem published successfully! Viewers can now purchase it during your stream.” Payment setup in Whistlr Go still has to be in place — unpublishing does not waive that check on the next publish.
When to Edit vs When to Unpublish
Edit when the tile still fits the show but the name or price is wrong: a $2.00 Hype Train that converts while a $50.00 tile sits idle should be repriced or renamed to a moment you actually call. Unpublish when a bit is over, a price is embarrassing, you want a clean two-tile store for a collab, or Earnings shows a tile that never sells. A quiet store with four well-named Gems beats a noisy store with six ignored ones. Drafts remain on the WTC grid for later experiments. You can customize and publish any time the WTC tab is open; viewers only buy while you are live.
Business+ and Payments Gates Still Apply
Monetization requires Business+. Apply at partners.whistlr.business; after verification, WTC, Earnings, Analytics, and Help appear in Studio. Publishing and republishing require payment setup in Whistlr Go. If setup is missing, Studio tells you to finish payouts there before a Gem can go live. The same check applies when you republish after unpublish. Empty grids and “No Gems Found” almost always mean payments are not finished — complete setup in Whistlr Go, return to WTC, and retry. Streaming without Business+ never unlocks Edit or Unpublish because the store itself stays locked.
- Draft status: Muted dot · Draft. Actions: Customize & Publish. Hidden from the viewer store.
- Published status: Green dot · Published. Actions: Edit · Unpublish. Live for purchase during your stream.
- Price bounds on every save: $0.50 minimum, $500.00 maximum — same validation on Edit as on first publish.
- Name required: Empty name blocks with “Please enter a Gem name.”
- Session feeds: Recent Gifts and the live Gem rail are current-stream only; they reset when the session ends. Long-run totals stay on Earnings.
Retuning From Earnings Evidence
Use Edit after you read Top Gem, average order, and Gem Performance — not from a guess between streams. If Top Gem is always the cheap entry item and average order sits near that floor, your mid may be misnamed or too high: Edit the mid toward $5–$10 and call it on stream. If a hype tile never moves, Unpublish it or Edit it into a role your show actually has. Keep at least one entry Gem near $0.50–$2 so first-time Discover viewers still have an easy yes. Keep a big thank-you published if top supporters need somewhere to land, but do not make $500 the only item. Cleared sends stay as Direct Revenue with no holding period whether you later unpublish the tile or not.
Mid-Stream Operations
During a live session you can open WTC, Edit a published Gem, and Update Gem without ending the broadcast. Viewers who already had the store open may need to refresh their view depending on client; new opens after “Changes are now live” see the updated catalog. Unpublishing mid-stream removes the tile from the store immediately for subsequent purchases. Sends that already cleared stay on the left-rail Live Gems feed and in Recent Gifts for that session, and they remain in Earnings forever. React on the rail (👍, ❤️, or 🔥) to mark thank-yous you already said out loud so Edit work does not make you lose track of who to shout out next.
You do not unpublish and republish just to retune a tier. Edit when the product still belongs; Unpublish when you want it off the storefront without deleting the slot.
Quick Reference: Live Tile Lifecycle
Published card → Edit → set Gem Name and/or Price ($0.50–$500.00) → Update Gem → “Changes are now live.” To hide: Unpublish → confirm → card returns to Draft with last name and price. To restore: Customize & Publish → Publish Gem again (Business+ verified; Whistlr Go payments still required). Success lines to expect: “Changes are now live.” and “Gem published successfully! Viewers can now purchase it during your stream.” After any retune, check Earnings on the next few sends before another change.
- Business+ required to monetize: No WTC grid means no Edit or Unpublish — verify at partners.whistlr.business first.
- Whistlr Go on republish: Unpublishing does not waive the payments check when you publish again.
- Immediate store updates: Name, price, and published vs draft state hit the viewer store as soon as the action succeeds.
- No money reversal on unpublish: Historical Gem purchases stay in Earnings and the payouts dashboard.
- Withdraw unchanged: Cleared revenue remains withdrawable on your schedule; typical bank arrival is one to two business days.
