What You Can Create on Whistlr Whistlr is not one feed with one format. Posts and Imprints live in Chattr and follow-based surfaces. Minis are short-form vertical video built for Minis, Discover, and Flow. Stories sit at the top of social surfaces and expire after twenty-four hours. Polls turn a post into a quick vote. Live content runs from your phone camera or from a full RTMP encoder through Creator Studio, then surfaces across Flow, Discover, Following, Highlights, your profile, and the Whistlr network apps. Each format has its own create path, tools, and audience habits — the skill is matching the moment to the right one instead of forcing every idea into a single box.

Writing and Sharing Posts Open Post from Create (or compose from Chattr and other entry points that jump straight into the composer). You get a rich text field with a practical character budget (about 550 characters on mobile), optional headline text for stronger framing, and a toolbar for media and extras. Type first if the idea is text-led; attach media first if the idea is visual. Hashtags and @mentions light up as you type, with suggestions so discovery and tagging stay accurate instead of guesswork.

Minis: Short-Form Video That Travels Minis are Whistlr’s vertical short videos. They power the Minis tab and also move through Discover and Flow when people engage. Viewers swipe up for the next clip, double-tap to like, and use side actions for comments, shares, and saves. As a creator, treat a Mini like a complete thought in under a minute when you can: strong first frame, clear audio or captions, and a finish that earns a rewatch or a follow — not a teaser that only works as episode seven of something nobody saw.

Captions, Text Overlays, and Accessibility From the Mini editor, open the text or caption tools to place on-screen words. Drag to position, pinch to resize, rotate when it fits the shot, and time each element so it appears with the beat or the spoken line rather than sitting on screen for the entire video. Style font, color, size, alignment, and background highlights so type stays readable over busy footage. When your Mini has spoken audio, auto-generated captions can draft the words for you — always proof them before post. Captions are not decoration: huge numbers of people watch with sound off in public, and captions make your work usable for viewers who are deaf or hard of hearing. A few extra seconds of caption work usually widens who can finish the clip.

Stories: Twenty-Four Hours of Now Stories are for moments that should not clog your permanent grid — behind-the-scenes, a quick poll of the day, a location check-in, a raw take you might not pin forever. They expire after twenty-four hours for viewers. Access Story from the Create strip or Stories entry points. Capture photos or record video (story video is capped around one minute), or pick media from your library. Then move through trim (for video), filters, and a pre-post canvas where you can draw, drop stickers and emoji, add text overlays with font and background styles, tag friends, and attach links or CTAs when your account and the moment call for them.

Polls: One Tap From Audience to Answer Polls live on original posts (not on reposts or quote reposts). In the post composer, open the poll tool to add a poll block. Write a question (up to 280 characters), then fill at least two answer options and up to six (each option up to 100 characters). Set duration to 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, or no limit. You can still pair the poll with a caption, photo, or other context so voters understand the stakes. Edit freely until you publish; after votes start, the structure locks so results stay trustworthy.

Going Live From the Whistlr App Mobile go-live is built for speed. From Create → Live (or live entry points tied to Flow), set a short, clear title and a category before you start. Categories help people find you among Just Chatting, Music & Performance, Gaming, Art & Creative, Beauty & Fashion, Fitness & Sports, Cooking & Food, Educational, IRL, Tech & Dev, Business & Finance, Comedy & Entertainment, Podcast & Talk Show, DIY & Lifestyle, Animals & Pets, Travel & Adventure, Spiritual & Mindfulness, and Other. Grant camera and microphone access when prompted. Tap go live only when the title is set — empty titles should not start a room. While live, chat is your co-host: greet people by name when you can, moderate quickly, and keep energy in the conversation as much as on camera. Co-host flows let additional creators join the broadcast when invited and accepted, so collabs share presence without splitting into separate disconnected rooms.

Creator Studio: Professional Live and Calendar Control Creator Studio (Creator LIVE Studio) is the cockpit for higher-production streams. You do not stream the browser camera as the main path. Instead, Studio issues Server URL and Stream Key credentials. Paste them into OBS, Streamlabs, XSplit, Wirecast, vMix, or any custom RTMP encoder as a Custom service, start streaming in the encoder, and watch the private Studio preview attach. Preview states walk you from “ready when you are” through “almost there” to “preview is receiving.” Only when the picture looks healthy do you open Stream Information, set a title (required, up to 100 characters) and category, then confirm Go Live. Scheduling Posts and Streams Consistency grows audiences faster than occasional bursts. From Creator Studio, open Schedule in the content creation menu, choose post or live stream, set date and time, finish the draft (or stream title and description), and confirm. Scheduled items land on your content calendar so you can see the week at a glance and fill gaps before they become silence. Edit or reschedule any item until it publishes. Canceling removes it quietly — no follower notification for something that never went live. For scheduled streams, followers with notifications enabled can get advance notice and a start reminder; the upcoming stream can also show on your profile so people plan to tune in. Specific titles outperform vague ones in both the calendar and the notification tray.

Collaborations and Co-Creation Collaborations multiply reach without erasing identity. Co-hosted lives start from stream setup with an invite the other creator must accept. Co-authored posts use an add-collaborator step while drafting, with the same acceptance gate before publish. Accepted collabs can appear on both profiles so each audience meets the other. Engagement and, for lives, gift activity surface in each creator’s tools according to how the collab is set up — agree on expectations before you go live or hit post. Chattr prioritizes the people you actually follow. Nearby can surface location-tagged local work when location permission is on. Flow blends signals into a personalized stream. Write hashtags that describe the content, not a wall of unrelated tags. Mentions notify people and build conversation. Interests you set as a viewer shape what you see; as a creator, clarity in titles, captions, categories, and thumbnails helps the same systems understand who should meet your work.

Safety, Quality, and Community Guidelines Everything you create — including Stories and lives — must follow Whistlr community guidelines and applicable law. Content is moderated with a mix of automated checks, reports, and human review. Live rooms need active chat care. Tag people only when they would reasonably expect it. Disclose brand partnerships when a post or stream is paid or gifted. Own or license music, media, and linked destinations you attach. Report abuse, and use mute, restrict, and block tools when someone makes creation unsafe. Ephemeral does not mean invisible to safety systems; create as if integrity matters longer than the twenty-four-hour Story timer.
