Read Receipts: Controlling Message Read Status Visibility
Read receipts show when recipients have viewed your messages, indicated by a "read" status in message delivery indicators. Control read receipt visibility through Settings > Privacy > Read Receipts, where you can enable or disable read receipts globally or per conversation. When disabled, recipients won't see when you've read their messages, though you'll still see read status for messages you send. This control allows you to balance communication transparency with privacy preferences.
Typing Indicators: Real-Time Communication Feedback
Typing indicators show when conversation participants are actively composing messages, providing real-time feedback about communication activity. Typing indicators appear automatically when enabled and disappear after a few seconds of inactivity. Control typing indicator visibility through Settings > Privacy > Typing Indicators, where you can enable or disable this feature globally. Typing indicators help facilitate natural conversation flow while respecting privacy preferences.

End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) ensures that only you and your conversation partner can read messages, with encryption keys managed securely on your devices rather than our servers. When E2EE is enabled, messages are encrypted on your device before transmission and decrypted only on the recipient's device. Our servers cannot read encrypted messages, providing maximum security for sensitive communications. E2EE is available for direct messages and can be enabled per conversation or globally.
Privacy Settings: Comprehensive Control Over Your Communication
Access privacy settings through Settings > Privacy to configure comprehensive controls over your messaging experience. Control who can message you (everyone, contacts only, nobody), manage read receipt visibility, configure typing indicator settings, control online status visibility, and manage message delivery preferences. These settings allow you to customize your privacy level according to your preferences and comfort level.
Blocking and Reporting: Protecting Yourself from Abuse
Block users to prevent them from messaging you, seeing your online status, or accessing your profile. Blocked users cannot contact you through any messaging channel, and their messages are automatically filtered. Report abusive, harassing, or inappropriate messages through the report function, which submits messages to our moderation team for review. Reporting helps maintain platform safety and can result in account restrictions or bans for violators.
Security Best Practices: Protect your account and messages by enabling two-factor authentication, using strong passwords, keeping your app updated, and being cautious about sharing sensitive information. Review your privacy settings regularly to ensure they match your preferences, and use blocking and reporting features when necessary.
